Victorinox Ranger 55 Wood – Swiss Army Knife with 10 Functions and Walnut Scales
The Victorinox Ranger 55 Wood (art. no. 0.9561.63) is a large pocket knife with 10 functions for the home, garden, workshop and leisure. Its features include a large locking blade and a wood saw. The scales are made of walnut wood. The knife is made in Switzerland and was awarded the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2015.
At 130 mm long and 163 g, it is a large, sturdy knife. The blade locks open, so it sits more securely when you cut. It cannot be opened one-handed; you need both hands to do so. Because the scales are natural wood, the grain can look different from one knife to the next.
The 10 functions at a glance
The Ranger 55 Wood combines cutting, sawing, opening and screwing in a single knife. So you have the right tool with you when working in the garden or workshop, or on a picnic:
- large locking blade
- wood saw
- large reamer, awl and sewing awl
- bottle opener
- tin opener
- 3 mm screwdriver
- 5 mm screwdriver (locking)
- corkscrew
- wire stripper
- key ring
Working safely with the locking blade and saw
Open the blade fully until it clicks audibly into place before you cut. To close it, release the lock and guide the blade down with your other hand, somewhere it cannot fall on your fingers. The wood saw is intended for branches and battens: saw with a steady stroke and do not press too hard, so that it does not jam. It is best not to leave the walnut wood of the scales lying wet for long. Wipe the knife dry after use before you put it away.
