UHU Hartkunststoff – crystal-clear special adhesive for ABS, acrylic and rigid PVC

UHU Hartkunststoff is a crystal-clear special adhesive for bonding hard plastics such as ABS, acrylic, Plexiglas and rigid PVC. You can also join these plastics to wood, paper, metal, glass and ceramics, for example in model making, repairs and craft projects.

The bond is hard but flexible, stable in cold and heat, and resistant to water, oil and dilute acids and alkalis. The adhesive sets quickly. It reaches its final strength after about 24 hours. The 30 g tube is enough for small bonding jobs and repairs.

Is the adhesive right for your material?

It is intended for plastics such as ABS, acrylic, Plexiglas and rigid PVC. It does not bond soft or difficult-to-bond plastics such as PE, PP, PA, POM and PTFE, nor silicone and polystyrene foam. The adhesive contains solvents that can dissolve some plastics. Test it first on an inconspicuous area.

How to bond hard plastics

A clean bonding surface is essential for good adhesion.

• Degrease the surfaces and keep them dry and free of dust
• Apply the adhesive thinly so that it does not squeeze out over the edge
• Join the parts and hold them in place until the bond holds
• Final strength is reached after about 24 hours; do not put the bond under load until then
• Close the tube again straight after use and store it in a cool, dry place, protected from frost

Danger. Highly flammable liquid and vapour. Causes serious eye irritation. May cause drowsiness or dizziness. If medical advice is needed, have product container or label at hand. Keep out of reach of children. Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. No smoking. Avoid breathing vapour. IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Dispose of contents/container in accordance with national regulations.
