Rayher eyelet tool – punching holes and setting eyelets
With the Rayher eyelet tool (art. no. 7845300) you punch holes in paper and then set eyelets, for example on cards, in albums and in other scrapbooking projects. The tool consists of a handy handle with an integrated screw thread and two punch attachments and two setter attachments in different sizes.
You screw the attachments into the handle as required. So you only need one handle for both steps, first for punching, then for fixing the eyelet.
How to punch a hole and set the eyelet
The work is done in two steps: first punch, then set. It is important to choose the punch and setter to match the size of your eyelet.
- Place the paper on the punching mat.
- Screw the punch in the size you want into the handle, place it on the paper and punch a hole with the hammer.
- Push the eyelet into the hole from the top down.
- Screw the matching setter into the handle, turn the piece over and place the setter into the eyelet from below.
- Tap the handle with the hammer: the foot of the eyelet spreads and holds firmly.
What the tool is used for
Small eyelets add accents to cards, album pages and other scrapbooking projects, for instance for threading ribbon or yarn through. Always strike on the mat rather than directly on the table top, which protects the work surface and the attachments. Set an eyelet on a scrap of paper first, then you can see whether the hole and setter match.
