STABILO Pen 68 – 20 felt-tip pens with water-blendable ink

The STABILO Pen 68 set of 20 in a plastic case contains 20 felt-tip pens in 20 colours for painting, drawing and colouring in. The tip is hard-wearing and gives a line width of approx. 1 mm. You can draw fine lines and also fill larger areas evenly. The water-based ink is odourless and can be blended with water, giving soft transitions and watercolour effects.

According to STABILO, the pens are protected against drying out for up to 24 hours without the cap. This helps on longer projects, such as mandalas or illustrations, if a cap goes missing in between. The cap can be pushed onto the end of the pen, so it stays out of the way while you draw. The pen barrel is made with 96% bio-based plastic using the mass balance approach, and the process is ISCC PLUS certified.

What you can use the set for

With 20 colours in the case, you can cover many subjects: mandalas and colouring pages, sketches, hand lettering and coloured illustrations. A line width of approx. 1 mm is a good middle ground between detail and coverage. For very fine hatching you will need a thinner pen, but the tip is still perfectly adequate for large areas. The plastic case keeps the set together and can be taken along in a school bag or to the studio.

Creating watercolour effects

First apply the colour to suitable watercolour paper, then spread it with a slightly dampened brush. This gives soft transitions and colour gradients. Use only a little water, as too much will make the ink run and the paper buckle.
