Eberhard Faber BIG WINNER Jumbo Colouring Pencils, Set of 6

Eberhard Faber BIG WINNER – 6 thick colouring pencils with break-resistant 6 mm lead

The Eberhard Faber BIG WINNER colouring pencils are a set of 6 thick jumbo pencils in a card case for drawing and colouring in. The lead is 6 mm in diameter and extra break-resistant. The soft colour laydown covers areas strongly with little pressure.

The pencils are hexagonal, fully lacquered and 17.5 cm long. The lacquer matches the colour of the lead, so you can tell the colour from the barrel. An embossed grip gives a secure hold. The lead is water-resistant but cannot be blended with water.

Working with the jumbo pencils

The thick lead makes broad, opaque strokes, so it suits larger areas and bold outlines. With light pressure you get a pale, even colour; with more pressure the colour becomes more intense. To sharpen them you need a jumbo sharpener: a standard sharpener will generally not fit over the thick barrel. For very fine details, the point of a jumbo lead stays broader than that of an ordinary colouring pencil.

Water-resistant, but not for blending

The lead is water-resistant, so the finished picture is preserved even if it gets damp. The pencils cannot be blended with water, so you will not get a watercolour effect with a brush and water.
