The Schmincke HORADAM watercolour metal tin is a watercolour paint set with 10 tubes of 15 ml. Schmincke makes HORADAM watercolour paint with the highest possible concentration of high-quality pigments, and it differs clearly from the AKADEMIE range. With 15 ml tubes you have enough paint to cover larger areas such as backgrounds, skies or glazes.

The ten colours are numbered 215, 224, 349, 353, 494, 492, 519, 655, 649 and 663. You can mix further shades from them on the palette without having to buy a whole assortment.

Working with watercolour paint from the tube

Squeeze only a little paint onto the mixing palette and dissolve it with water. The more water you add, the more transparent the application. For even areas and glazes, mix a larger quantity before you put brush to paper. That way you won't need to mix again halfway across the area.

• Use paint sparingly; you can always squeeze out more
• Wipe the tube opening clean after squeezing and close the cap firmly
• Test the colours on a spare sheet before applying them to your painting

Choosing and adding to the set

The tin with 10 tubes suits you if you want to work with tube paint and mix larger quantities. If a shade is missing, you can add it from the HORADAM range: it includes individual colours as 5 ml tubes as well as tins with pans.
