Kremke Soul Wool Silky Kid RMS – fine mohair and silk yarn

Silky Kid RMS from Kremke Soul Wool is a fine yarn made of 72% mohair and 28% silk for knitting and crochet. One ball weighs 25 g and has a length of 210 m, which works out at 840 m per 100 g. It makes light, fluffy pieces such as shawls, jumpers, cardigans or accessories.

According to the manufacturer, the mohair comes from farms independently certified to animal welfare and land management standards (RMS). The yarn is made in South Africa for Kremke Soul Wool. Choose your colour from the options.

Single strand, double strand or carry-along yarn

Silky Kid can be knitted with a single strand, giving a very airy, light fabric. Held double, the fabric becomes denser and warmer. You can also carry it along with another yarn to make its surface softer and fluffier. With 210 m per 25 g you get a lot of length for little weight, so you can plan fine shawls with very little yarn.

Yarn requirements and tension

For a women's jumper in size M, the manufacturer gives a yarn requirement of approx. 300 g, which is around 12 balls of 25 g. What matters is the tension given in your pattern; the figure on the ball band is only a guide. Mohair is difficult to unravel, so it is worth knitting a tension swatch before you start. The yarn is hand wash only.
