The Ricorumi Nilli Nilli pastel set of 10 from Rico Design contains ten balls of chenille yarn in pastel colours, 25 g each. Rico Design developed the yarn specifically for crocheting amigurumi figures. It has a dense chenille texture and a matt sheen, which makes your animals, dolls and other figures soft and cuddly.

Each ball has a length of 65 m, so the set comes to 650 m. As you have all ten shades in one pack, you can pick out the body, ears, muzzle and details in contrasting colours without having to hunt down individual balls. The colour numbers are 002, 005, 007, 025, 018, 022, 003, 011, 016 and 014, one ball of each.

Crocheting with Nilli Nilli

Chenille yarn has a soft, dense texture, and the stitches are harder to see than with smooth yarn. A stitch marker at the start of the round helps you keep track when crocheting in spiral rounds. The 3 mm hook size is the manufacturer's recommendation, and the tension on the ball band is 22 stitches and 28 rows over 10 × 10 cm. What matters is the tension given in your pattern; the figure on the ball band is only a guide.

Who is the set for?

The set suits you if you want to crochet several figures or multicoloured details and are looking for coordinated pastel shades. With 25 g and 65 m per colour, the balls are best suited to smaller parts or small figures. For a large, single-colour figure you will need more of one colour, and an individual ball of the same yarn is then the right addition. Wash finished pieces gently at 30 °C according to the manufacturer's care instructions and do not tumble dry them.
