Städter Triangular Proving Basket – Rattan Basket for Up to 750 g of Bread Dough

The Städter triangular proving basket is made of rattan and has a linen liner. You prove bread dough in it, up to a maximum of 750 g. The basket measures 22 x 22 cm and is 8.5 cm high. The shaped dough rests in the basket, keeps its shape while proving and takes on the triangular outline of the basket. According to the manufacturer, it can also be used as a bread basket.

Rattan is a natural product, so the shape and size of the basket may vary slightly. The dimensions are therefore only a guide.

Using the proving basket

Flour the basket well before each use so that the dough does not stick to the weave. Place the shaped dough in the basket and leave it to prove. 750 g is the upper limit; with more dough, there is not enough room for it. The basket is not suitable for baking: before baking, turn the dough out of the basket onto a baking tray or baking stone.

Care

After use, brush the basket out thoroughly. Rattan does not tolerate water, so do not clean it under running water and store it dry. You can wash the linen liner at 30–40 °C on a delicate cycle.
