Fridolin 3D Paper Model Flamingo – build it yourself from laser-cut cardboard parts

The Fridolin 3D paper model flamingo is a craft model to assemble: from precisely laser-cut cardboard parts you build a flamingo piece by piece, measuring approx. 8.5 × 12.5 × 4 cm (W × H × D) when finished. It takes concentration, patience and dexterity, and at the end you have a decorative piece for a shelf or windowsill. Fridolin recommends the model from 8 years.

The model belongs to Fridolin's Natural Museum Collection. As it fits together with other animal models from this series, you can gradually build up a small collection. The pack contains the model and illustrated assembly instructions.

Assembling the model

Carefully release the parts from the cardboard and work in the order given in the assembly instructions. Fit the parts together without glue first, so you can see how they interlock. You can fix them with glue. Apply it sparingly so the cardboard does not soften or warp, and let each joint grip briefly before you carry on building. The fine bridges and tabs break easily, so take particular care with curves and thin parts such as the neck and legs.
