Rayher corn husk rope – twisted natural rope for wrapping, plaiting and decorating

Rayher corn husk rope is a twisted natural rope made from dried corn husks, which you can use for floristry and decoration. It has a diameter of 5 mm, is 10 m long and comes in a natural colour.

The rope is flexible and can be plaited, sewn, woven, wrapped and glued. You can use it to tie bouquets, wrap bottles or candle holders, or add rustic touches to decorations. Rayher describes the rope as a natural product made from a rapidly renewable raw material.

Working with the rope

To wrap a bottle or candle holder, secure the start with a drop of glue and wind the rope tightly side by side around the body. Fix the end with glue as well. The ends of a rope made of twisted fibres tend to fray: before cutting, wrap the cutting point with a little tape or fix it with glue so that it stays neat.

Planning

With a length of 10 m, you can estimate the amount you need for your project by measuring the circumference of the object and multiplying it by the number of planned turns.
