Collall Bookbinding Glue – water-based adhesive for binding and repairing books
Collall bookbinding glue is a thick, white, water-based adhesive (also called laminating glue) for binding and repairing books. It bonds card, paper and fabric, as well as cork, wood and plastic. The glue dries clear, flexible and waterproof and, according to Collall, is water-based and solvent-free.
Choose your size from the options. According to Collall, the glue is suitable from 6 years.
Gluing with bookbinding glue
The surfaces to be bonded must be dry and free of dust and dirt. Apply the glue thickly with a glue brush or dip the material in. When gluing fabric, only coat the card. The drying time is approx. 1 hour, so allow for pressing or weighting the book block accordingly. For planning quantities: consumption is approx. 200 g per square metre.
Other uses
Besides bookbinding and book repair, Collall lists the following applications:
- Scrapbooking and journaling
- Model making
- Sealing and priming painting canvas
- Binder for home-made paint with pigment
Cleaning and storage
Clean brushes and tools with water while the glue is still wet. Soak dried-on residue in warm water and remove it with a brush. Store the glue in a cool place, protected from frost.
