Kryolan Mastix Adhesive – Spirit Gum for Hair, Beards and Wigs

Kryolan Mastix adhesive is a classic spirit gum for attaching hair, beards and wigs to the skin, for example for theatre, film, cosplay or carnival. The adhesive has a high proportion of natural copal resin and has long been used by make-up artists for this purpose.

The 12 ml are enough for individual looks and smaller applications such as sideburns, moustaches or eyebrows. Worth knowing when planning: to remove it cleanly you need a suitable remover, which is not included.

Attaching hair and beards

Apply the mastix to the area of skin you want and leave it to dry briefly. Then press the hairpiece, beard or wig edge down firmly. Letting it dry is the key step: if you stick onto wet adhesive, the piece slips more easily and the hold is weaker. Apply the adhesive thinly and only where you actually want to stick, and keep it away from your eyes. If you have sensitive skin, test it first on a small patch of skin.

Removal

Remove the mastix from the skin with MME – Mild Mastix Remover. Residue on tulle or surfaces is best dissolved with the Mastix Remover or with alcohol. Do not pull hairpieces off the skin dry; loosen them with the remover first.
