Efco open clamshell knot covers – neatly hiding knots and crimp beads

Efco clamshell knot covers consist of two small half-spheres that you press together. They hide and secure knots or crimp beads on handmade bracelets, necklaces and other jewellery. According to the manufacturer, the surface is silver-plated. With 100 pieces in the bag, you have enough for several pieces of jewellery.

The covers are open, so you place them around the fixing from the side. At ø 3.5 x 12.5 mm they are small and look discreet on the finished piece of jewellery.

How to use crimp covers

First thread jewellery wire or thread through the crimp bead, or knot it at the end of the piece. Then place the open cover around the crimp bead or knot so that the connection sits completely inside the half-spheres. Gently press the cover together with flat-nose pliers until the half-spheres close.

• Press gently: too much force can deform the thin half-spheres.
• After closing, check that the cover sits firmly and that no edges stick out.
• Crimp beads and clasps are not included.
