Rayher CERAMICA mosaic tiles 20 × 20 mm – unglazed ceramic in natural shades

Rayher CERAMICA mosaic tiles are unglazed ceramic tiles in a mix of natural shades, for mosaics on tables, picture frames, flower pots or wall surfaces. This listing is for the 20 × 20 mm size: one tub contains 800 g, which is approx. 200 tiles. That covers an area of approx. 30 × 30 cm including 10 % grout, so you can estimate your project before you buy.

According to Rayher, the tiles are deliberately not cut precisely: height and surface vary from tile to tile, and slight differences in colour are part of the character. This gives your mosaic a natural, lively look. The tiles are also intended for outdoor use, but they are not frost-proof. Protect them from moisture in frosty weather.

Making a mosaic

First lay the tiles out dry on the base and arrange them as you wish. Because the tiles are not completely uniform, a lively pattern emerges almost by itself. Then stick them down with mosaic adhesive. Leave the adhesive to dry, then work the grout in with the spatula and wipe off the residue with a damp sponge before it dries on the surface. For edges and curves, break individual tiles with mosaic nippers.

20 × 20 mm or 10 × 10 mm?

The larger 20 × 20 mm tiles let you work faster, as you have fewer pieces to lay. The 10 × 10 mm version (approx. 780 tiles per 800 g, according to Rayher) is better suited to finer designs and small details.
