3M ultra fine sanding sponge – for fine sanding of wood and metal

The 3M ultra fine sanding sponge, grit 800–1000, is a flexible sanding sponge for fine sanding of wood and metal. As the sponge conforms to contours, you can sand curves, edges and profiled surfaces evenly with it.

At 115 × 140 mm, it sits comfortably in the hand. The ultra fine grit smooths surfaces and is suited to the second, finer sanding after coarser sandpaper.

Sanding with the sponge

Sand wood along the grain with even, light pressure so that no cross-grain scratches appear. On metal, too, work with light pressure and even movements. Wipe off the sanding dust after sanding before you continue. For rough sanding or removing material, you need a coarser grit. The ultra fine sponge is intended for the final fine sanding.
