Efco copper disc – round copper blank for enamelling and forming

The Efco copper disc is a round blank made of real copper sheet, 0.8 mm thick, which you can enamel, form or chase. Used flat, the disc also works as a base for an enamel picture.

Choose the diameter from the options. Pick one to suit your project: small discs are suited to pendants and jewellery elements, while larger ones offer more surface for designs.

How to proceed

At 0.8 mm thick, the disc is sturdy enough for pendants and jewellery pieces, yet can still be formed.

• Form or chase the disc first, as a fired enamel layer can chip off if the disc is shaped afterwards.
• Remove grease and fingerprints before enamelling so that the enamel adheres evenly.
• Apply the enamel thinly and fire it according to the instructions for your enamel and your kiln.
• Use a suitable firing support when firing so that the disc lies flat and secure in the kiln.
