BeadSmith locking forceps with serrated jaws – holds small parts in three ratchet positions
The BeadSmith hemostat HC26 is a pair of locking forceps made of stainless steel, which you can use to hold beads, thread and small parts securely. The jaws are serrated, so they grip firmly. At 5 inches (approx. 125 mm) long, the forceps sit compactly in the hand and can be guided in tight spaces too.
The forceps lock in three positions. This lets you set the clamping force to suit the material, and you do not have to keep the handles squeezed together. That eases the strain on your hand during longer jobs.
What you can use the forceps for
When stringing beads, clamp the forceps to the end of the thread so that unfinished jewellery does not slip off the cord. In electronics, hobby work and other craft projects you can also use them to hold small parts, for example when soldering or gluing. First close the forceps to the first ratchet position. If the hold is not enough, lock them one position further. To release, squeeze the handles lightly and open them sideways.
Serrated or smooth jaws?
The serrated tips hold very firmly and suit material that is not delicate. For elastic thread or soft cords that the serrations could damage, it is better to choose a clamp with smooth jaws.
