Rayher Pumpkin Carving Kit – 5 Tools for Hollowing Out and Carving

The Rayher pumpkin carving kit (art. no. 69160000) contains five tools for hollowing out Halloween pumpkins and carving designs into them. The kit includes two saws, a small scoop, a marker and a tracing wheel. Everything comes packed on a retail card.

The pieces work well together: use the marker and tracing wheel to transfer the design to the skin, cut it out with the saws, and the scoop helps with clearing out the pumpkin. For simple faces and patterns you therefore need no additional tools.

Carving a pumpkin step by step

First cut off the lid and scoop out the pumpkin until the wall is only about 2–3 cm thick. The thinner the wall, the easier the cuts. Fix your template to the skin with adhesive tape and go over the lines with the tracing wheel: it leaves a row of dots that you can see clearly later. Alternatively, draw the design freehand with the marker. Then saw along the lines. Use the saw in short strokes and do not press hard, otherwise the skin will break away.

Tips for neat results

Work on a non-slip surface and always cut away from your body. For designs with small details, start on the inside and saw the outer contours last, so the pumpkin stays stable for longer. Push cut-out pieces out from the inside to the outside so that the edge does not tear.
