FIMO soft Basic Colours – 24 Colours of Oven-Bake Modelling Clay in a Set
The FIMO soft Basic Colours material pack from Staedtler (art. no. 8023 C24-1) contains 24 half blocks of oven-bake modelling clay in assorted colours, 25 g each, 600 g in total. You can use it to shape jewellery, accessories and home decorations, then harden the finished pieces in the oven.
FIMO soft is soft and pliable and, according to Staedtler, can be combined with FIMO effect and FIMO professional. With 24 colours in the set, you can use the shades straight from the pack or mix them together. The clay stays workable until you harden it in the oven. This gives you time to model at your own pace and refine details.
How to harden your FIMO pieces
Knead each half block in your hands before shaping until it is soft and pliable. Place your finished pieces on baking paper or a heatproof surface and harden them in the oven at 110 °C for 30 minutes. The temperature display on many ovens differs from the actual temperature. An oven thermometer shows you whether you are in the right range. Never heat the clay above 130 °C. After hardening, let the pieces cool in the oven or in the open air before you handle them.
Who is the set suitable for?
The set of 24 assorted colours suits you if you want to start with a wide choice of colours or top up your stock. For jewellery such as pendants or beads, small accessories and decorative objects, you have all the basic shades to hand. As the colours can be mixed, you can create your own shades, for example a lighter pink from white and red. You can add special effect colours separately if needed, as FIMO effect is compatible with FIMO soft.
