Botz 9529 Rosenquarz Liquid Glaze – Satin Soft Pink for Earthenware

Botz 9529 Rosenquarz liquid glaze is an opaque, satin glaze in soft pink for bisque-fired ceramics. It is based on 9526 Champagner and shows slightly flaky speckled effects that vary depending on the clay body. This gives the surface a lively, lightly speckled look rather than an evenly smooth one.

The glaze is designed for earthenware. It is stable in the firing range of 1020–1060 °C and can be fired up to 1100 °C. The 200 ml pot suits smaller pieces and is useful for trying out the colour.

Applying the glaze

The glaze can be applied with a brush. The ceramics must be bisque-fired beforehand at a minimum of 950 °C so that the clay body takes up the glaze evenly.

• Stir the glaze well before use and thin with a little water if needed
• Apply evenly to the bisque-fired ceramics with a brush
• Leave to dry thoroughly
• Apply a further coat if needed

Firing and colour effect

Fire the glaze in the range of 1020–1060 °C, where it is stable. It can also be fired up to 1100 °C. The flaky speckled effects vary in strength depending on the clay body, so the pink can look different on light and dark clay.
