Rayher polystyrene sheet 400 x 400 mm, 40 mm thick

Rayher polystyrene sheet 40 x 40 x 4 cm – base for model making, floristry and decoration

The Rayher polystyrene sheet (art. no. 30074000) is a square craft sheet made of polystyrene, 400 × 400 mm along each edge and 40 mm thick. You can use it as a base, stand or blank for model making, floral work, seasonal decorations and school projects.

According to Rayher, the plain sheet can be decorated with paint, felt, ribbons, glitter and more. At 4 cm thick, it holds floral picks and twigs well, or you can cut shapes out of the block.

Working with the sheet

A hot-wire polystyrene cutter is suitable for cutting and gives clean edges; ventilate the room when hot-cutting. Alternatively, a long, sharp knife will also work. For painting, water-based paints such as acrylic paint work best. Solvent-based glues and spray varnishes can dissolve polystyrene, so test them first on an offcut.

Uses for the sheet

The flat 40 × 40 cm surface is suitable as a base for floral arrangements and model landscapes, or as a blank for signs and shapes. You can lay several sheets side by side if you need a larger surface.
