The Proxxon MICROMOT 60/EF (art. no. 28512) is a drill and milling tool for fine work where you want to guide a small, light tool by hand. At just 35 mm in diameter and approx. 230 g, it is slim and easy to hold. The balanced motor with ground, ball-bearing spindle ensures smooth, steady running.

You control the speed continuously between 5,000 and 20,000 rpm. At the lower end of the speed range the tool has high pulling power, so it stays in the material even at low speed. The quick-release chuck takes shanks from 0.3 to 3.2 mm.

Quick-release chuck or collets

The quick-release chuck clamps tools from 0.3 to 3.2 mm. This is practical if you often switch between bits with different shank diameters, for example HSS drill bits: you do not need individual collets for this. If you prefer to work with collets, you can also use the tool with MICROMOT steel collets.

Power supply and speed control

All tools in this range run on safety extra-low voltage (SELV). You need a power supply unit to operate it; the Proxxon NG 2 power supply is recommended. When choosing, check whether it is stabilised:

• With non-stabilised power supplies (e.g. all MICROMOT transformers), continuously variable speed control works.
• With stabilised power supplies, connection is possible, but the tool then runs at maximum speed.
• When operated on batteries, it also runs at maximum speed.
