Proxxon MICRO Heat Gun MH 550 – 2 Settings up to 550 °C with 3 Extra Nozzles

The Proxxon MICRO heat gun MH 550 (art. no. 27130) is a compact hot air tool for shrinking tubing, shaping and welding plastic, soldering and desoldering electronic components, and removing layers of paint and varnish. The heating element works on 2 settings, 350 °C and 550 °C, with an air flow of approx. 180 l/min. A built-in thermostat protects the tool from overheating.

The housing is made of glass-fibre-reinforced polyamide. There are soft components in the grip area, and standing surfaces allow stationary use. The gun weighs approx. 500 g, which makes it easy to handle. Three extra nozzles (spot, flat and reflector nozzle) are included.

Choosing the setting and nozzle

Choose the setting to suit the material: setting 1 at 350 °C is enough for more delicate jobs such as drying or film work. You need setting 2 at 550 °C for layers of paint or solder joints. The spot nozzle concentrates the air on a small area. The flat nozzle spreads it over a wider surface, for example when loosening paint. The reflector nozzle is used for heat shrink tubing and solder joints. It is best to start on the low setting and keep the gun moving. If it stays too long in one place, plastic can warp or wood can discolour.

Working hands-free

You can stand the gun on the standing surfaces on the housing, which leaves both hands free for the workpiece. This helps when shrinking tubing or drying small parts. When removing old paint, make sure the area is well ventilated.
