This tie rack made of varnished wood is built like a clothes hanger and holds around 20 ties. The ties hang securely on the hanger, and you find the right one more quickly in your wardrobe. At 30 × 15.5 cm, it takes up hardly more space on the rail than an ordinary hanger.

Decorating it as a craft project

You can also decorate the tie rack, for example as a Father's Day gift. Because the wood is already varnished, the surface takes paint less well than raw wood. So lightly sand the areas you want to paint beforehand and wipe off the sanding dust. Acrylic paint or paint pens will then hold better. For names, initials or small motifs, glued-on wooden letters or small decorative embellishments are also suitable. Let the paint and glue dry completely before you hang ties on it, so that nothing rubs off or sticks.
