Rayher wooden suitcase with handle, 25 x 16 x 9 cm

Rayher wooden suitcase to decorate and use for storage

The Rayher wooden suitcase (art. no. 6158000) is an untreated wooden blank to paint, cover and decorate. It measures 25 × 16 cm and is 9 cm high, with a metal-look handle and metal clasps with hinges. Once decorated, you can use it to store pens, photos, postcards, keepsakes or jewellery, or give it as a gift.

The wood is natural and unvarnished. The suitcase has no interior dividers, so you can use the space as it is or divide it up yourself.

Decorating the suitcase

Untreated wood soaks up paint. Before painting, prime it with gesso or a first thin coat of paint to give a more even finish. The suitcase can be covered, for example, using decoupage, Decopatch or DecoMaché paper, or fabric. If you are varnishing, mask the handle, clasps and hinges first to keep them clean and ensure the suitcase still opens easily. Apply paint or varnish in two thin coats and let each coat dry thoroughly.
