Wooden Halma Game Pieces – Replacement Pieces to Paint

These Halma pieces are game pieces made of raw wood, which you can use to replace missing or lost pieces in Halma, Ludo (Mensch ärgere dich nicht) and similar games. You get 20 cones, each 12 mm in diameter and 25 mm high.

The wood is untreated, so you can paint the cones in any colour you like with acrylic paints. This lets you match replacement pieces to the colours of your game or create a set of your own.

Painting the cones

Raw wood absorbs paint. Apply acrylic paint in two thin coats and let each coat dry, so the colour covers evenly. If you hold the cones one at a time, you can grip them by the base and paint the sides in one stroke. When you need several identical pieces, it is worth painting all the cones of one colour in a row.
