The da Vinci JUNIOR brush set series 4211 contains five paint brushes for use at school, in nursery, in art lessons and for hobby painting: three round brushes and two flat brushes. All the brushes have elastic, hard-wearing synthetic fibres. The set is intended mainly for gouache and tempera, and is also suitable for other water-based paints such as acrylic. Paper and card are the recommended surfaces.

The handles are short, varnished and hexagonal. The shape sits well in small hands, and the brushes are less likely to roll off the table. The ferrules are made of rustproof aluminium and stand up to frequent rinsing.

Which brush for what?

The three round brushes from series 303 (nos. 2, 4 and 8) cover a wide range, from fine lines to larger areas: with no. 2 you paint lines and small details, with no. 8 you fill in areas. The two flat brushes from series 329 (nos. 8 and 12) apply paint more broadly, for example for backgrounds, stripes or straight edges. Their stronger synthetic bristles also cope with thick paint and rougher surfaces.

Care in everyday school use

Rinse the brushes with water straight after painting, especially after using acrylic paint: once dry, it hardens in the fibres and is almost impossible to remove. Do not leave the brushes standing bristles-down in a glass of water, as the fibres will bend. Lay them flat to dry.
