STABILO woody 3 in 1 Pastel – 6 thick pencils for paper, card and glass
The STABILO woody 3 in 1 Pastel set of 6 with sharpener contains six thick pencils that are colouring pencil, watercolour and wax crayon in one. The colours are pastel blue, pastel red, pastel lilac, pastel pink, pastel yellow and pastel green. According to STABILO, the lead gives strong coverage and glows even on dark paper and card. You can draw with it dry, or blend the colour with a brush and water for soft watercolour effects.
The lead has a diameter of 10 mm and is break-resistant. According to STABILO, one woody goes as far as eight standard colouring pencils, so you need to replace them less often. The barrel is round, thick and made of 100 % PEFC-certified wood.
Working with the woody
Used dry, it draws like a soft colouring pencil: light pressure gives delicate areas of colour, firmer pressure makes the colour richer and more opaque. For watercolour effects, go over the colour with a damp brush and blend it. A little water keeps the colour strong, more water makes it more transparent. Use paper or card that can take some moisture, as thin paper cockles quickly.
On glass, metal and ceramic
As well as paper and card, the pencils also draw on smooth surfaces such as glass, metal, ceramic and plastic, according to STABILO. On glass, the colour can be wiped off again with water. This suits window pictures that you remove again after the season. Pastel shades work well for this, for example for spring and Easter decorations.
Sharpening and choice
The supplied sharpener is matched to the thick lead; ordinary pencil sharpeners are usually too small for the 10 mm diameter. This set contains six soft pastel colours. If you are looking for stronger shades, take a look at the other colour assortments in the woody range.
