Marabu Screen Printing Frame – Fabric Printing with Water-Based Inks

The Marabu screen printing frame is a wooden frame with 51T mesh for screen printing on textiles. You can print your own designs with water-based inks such as Marabu Textil Print, on both light and dark fabrics. The fine mesh suits detailed designs; the frame is well suited to individual designs and small runs.

The frame is available in DIN A5 and A4. Choose the size from the options.

How to print with the screen printing frame

The frame is the printing tool: the ink is pressed through the mesh onto the fabric wherever the design is not covered. You will also need a stencil, a squeegee and ink.

• Lay the textile smooth and flat on a firm surface.
• Fix your stencil to the screen and place the frame on the fabric.
• Put the ink along the top edge of the design and pull it evenly across the screen with the squeegee, using light pressure.
• Lift the frame straight up so that nothing smudges.
• Fix the ink following the instructions on the ink packaging.

Which size to choose

Choose the size to suit your design: the design must fit within the print area, with a little space left all round for the ink. A5 suits smaller designs, A4 larger ones. Rinse the screen with water straight after printing, while the ink has not yet dried in the mesh.
