WEDO Craft Knife Set, 7 Pieces with 6 Blades

WEDO Craft Knife Set – Precision Knife with 6 Blades for Paper and Film

The WEDO craft knife set (art. no. 78722) is a hobby knife for fine cutting and scraping work on paper, card, film and thin plastic. It consists of a cylindrical aluminium handle with a rubberised grip zone and six blades, seven pieces in total. The handle sits securely in the hand, so you can guide the blade with control even on intricate designs.

The blades come in different shapes: five are ground on both sides (universal blade, narrow blade, round blade, drag blade steep and drag blade extreme), while the scraper blade is ground on one side. That way you have the right shape to hand for stencils, model making and paper crafts, and do not have to make do with a single blade. A sturdy ABS plastic box keeps the blades together. The magnetic end of the handle makes it easier to take the blades out of the box.

Which blade for which job?

The blades differ in shape and grind. The easiest way to find out which suits your material best is to try them on an offcut.

• Universal blade: for general cuts in paper and card
• Narrow blade: for fine details and tight designs
• Round blade, drag blade steep and drag blade extreme: further double-sided ground shapes for different cutting lines
• Scraper blade: ground on one side, for controlled scraping

Cutting cleanly

Place your material on a cutting mat so that the blade tip does not go blunt on the tabletop. Guide the knife with even, light pressure, and with thicker card it is better to cut in several passes than with one forceful cut. This keeps the edge clean and the blade is less likely to slip. If the cut becomes ragged or you have to press harder, fit a fresh blade. For stencils and small cut-outs, turn the workpiece instead of reaching around the knife with your hand.
