Koh-i-noor Butterfly Drawing Stencil – Trace Designs Easily onto Paper

The Koh-i-noor butterfly drawing stencil is a coloured, transparent plastic stencil for tracing butterfly and flower designs onto paper. Place it on your sheet, trace the outlines with a pen or pencil, then colour in the drawing as you like.

The stencil is see-through, so you can see where the design will land on the sheet as you position it, and it is easy to spread several designs across one page. At 265 × 187 mm it is slightly smaller than an A4 sheet, which leaves a margin for your picture.

Tracing a design

Lay the stencil on the paper and hold it with one hand so that it does not slip while you draw. Run the pencil upright along the inner edge of the design you want. The 2 mm thickness gives the pencil some support against the edge. Then lift off the stencil and colour in the drawing.

Which pens and pencils to use

For the outline, a pencil or a fineliner works best. You can colour in with colouring pencils, felt-tip pens or wax crayons. If you outline with a felt-tip pen, do not put the stencil down on wet ink after lifting it, so that nothing smudges.
