KOH-I-NOOR Flexible Curve Ruler – Bendable Curve Rule, Choice of Lengths

KOH-I-NOOR flexible curve ruler – for curves and sweeping lines

You need the flexible curve ruler from KOH-I-NOOR Hardtmuth when you want to join points in a drawing with a clean, flowing line or transfer rounded shapes. The ruler is made of bendable plastic and can be shaped as you like. It has an inking edge, which is also intended for drawing lines with ink. Choose the length from the options.

Drawing a curve

First mark the points your line should join. Then bend the ruler by hand until its edge touches every point, and hold it firmly on the paper with your free hand. Draw the line in one stroke without readjusting the ruler partway, otherwise kinks will appear along the line. With a neatly sharpened pencil held upright against the edge, the line stays even.

Choosing the length

The ruler is available in several lengths. A shorter ruler is enough for small sketches and details; for long curves, for example on larger formats, choose a longer one so that you do not have to lift off and restart the line.
