Sakura Sketch Book 9 × 14 cm, 80 black sheets, 140 g/m²

Sakura Sketch Book 9 × 14 cm – sketchbook with black paper

The Sakura Sketch Book in 9 × 14 cm format is a sketch and notebook with a hardback cover and 80 black sheets (140 g/m², acid-free paper). You can take it with you for sketches, ideas and small drawings in ink, pencil, oil pastel or charcoal. According to the manufacturer Royal Talens, it suits Sakura products such as Pigma Micron, Pigma Brush, Gelly Roll and Cray-Pas.

The compact format fits into a jacket or handbag. The elastic closure keeps the book shut so that it can be stowed away without taking up space. The illustrated dust jacket is by Kim Dijkstra and can be used as a bookmark.

Working on black paper

On black pages, light, opaque colours show up best, while dark pens are barely visible. It is therefore a good idea to try your pens out first on a page at the back of the book. According to the manufacturer, the pen loop is designed for pens such as Pigma Micron and Gelly Roll, so you have your tool with you. The fold-out pocket at the back holds loose sketches, notes or reference images.

Which format and which paper colour?

The range is available with black or cream-white sheets and in various sizes, for example 13 × 21 cm. This book has black sheets in the small pocket format of 9 × 14 cm. For larger motifs, choose a larger format; for light drawings with dark pens, choose the version with cream-white paper.
