Sakura Sketch Book A4, 80 Black Sheets, 140 gsm, Hardback

Sakura Sketch Book A4 with black pages – sketchbook with pen loop and pocket

The Sakura Sketch Book in A4 format (21 × 29.7 cm) is a sketchbook with 80 black sheets for drawings, sketches and notes. The paper weighs 140 gsm and is acid-free. The hard cover is black, and an elastic band keeps the book closed so that it is easy to carry in a bag.

The 80 sheets make 160 pages. The same sketchbook is also available with cream-white sheets; this is the version with black paper.

What to use on black paper

According to the manufacturer, the sketchbook is suitable for ink, pencil, oil pastel and charcoal. On black paper, however, only light, opaque colours show up well, and dark pencils are barely visible. Sakura lists Gelly Roll, Permapaque and Cray-Pas, among others, as suitable products. It is best to do a quick colour test at the edge of a page before you start a drawing.

Features in detail

There is a pen loop in the cover for your favourite pen. At the back is a fold-out pocket for loose sketches and notes. You can also use the illustrated dust jacket as a bookmark. Thanks to the hard cover, you have a firm surface to draw on even when you are out and about.
