Prym long sewing needles no. 11 – fine hand sewing needles for delicate fabrics

Prym long sewing needles no. 11 are particularly slim hand sewing needles for fine fabrics and detailed sewing work. The pack contains 20 needles, each 32 mm long and 0.5 mm thick. They are made of hardened steel and have a burr-free punched eye.

The point is finely and slenderly ground, and the surface has a smooth, pore-free coating. This helps the needle glide easily through the fabric. According to Prym, the head is shaped so that you can work comfortably even without a thimble.

Which needle number do you need?

With Prym, the higher the number, the thinner and shorter the needle. No. 11 is the finest needle in this range. Nos. 5, 7 and 9 are longer and stronger, for example no. 5 at 40 × 0.8 mm. Choose no. 11 for delicate fabrics and fine work. Long needles are generally about 7 mm longer than medium-length ones, which makes them easy to hold.

Working with fine needles

Choose a sewing thread that passes easily through the narrow eye, and guide the needle through the fabric with an even pull. With fine fabrics, insert the needle without force so that you do not distort the weave.
