This set of double-pointed needles from Prym (art. no. 171232) consists of five silver-coloured steel needles, 1.25 mm thick and 20 cm long. You can use them to knit in the round with fine yarn, for example socks in thin sock yarn, baby socks, glove fingers or fine lace pieces worked in the round.

Knitting with double-pointed needles

Divide the cast-on stitches evenly between four needles and join them into a round without twisting them. With the fifth needle, knit the stitches of one needle at a time; the needle that has become free then takes over the next one. Slightly loose spots, known as ladders, easily form where two needles meet. So pull the first two stitches on each needle a little tighter, or shift the joins by one or two stitches from time to time.

Practical tip: What matters is the needle size given in your pattern and your tension swatch. The needle size on the ball band of your yarn is only a guide. If you need slightly thicker needles, Prym also offers this set in 1.50 mm.
