Prym Embroidery Needles No. 9 – Fine Crewel Needles with Gold-Coloured Eye

Prym embroidery needles No. 9 are crewel needles with a large eye for fine embroidery and fine sewing. The higher the needle number, the finer the needle: at 35 × 0.60 mm, No. 9 is the thinnest in the series. It suits small stitches and details on fine fabric. The pack contains 16 needles.

The gold-coloured eye is punched burr-free and smooth. This makes threading easier and is gentle on the thread. The surface is finished to be non-porous, so the needle glides well through the fabric and is protected against rust. According to Prym, the spring hardness is matched across the needles, so they do not bend or break as easily.

What No. 9 is suited to – and when a thicker needle is better

Thanks to the fine point, No. 9 makes small, precise stitches, for example for details, outlines and embroidery on fine, tightly woven fabric. Fine sewing work is also possible with it. The large eye takes embroidery thread; divide stranded cotton into single strands if needed, which makes it easier to thread. For thicker yarns, coarse fabrics or several strands of thread at once, the No. 5 and No. 7 needles in the series are better suited, as they are somewhat thicker and longer.
