Prym Safety Pins 50 mm, Silver-Coloured, Pack of 12

Prym Safety Pins 50 mm – Long Pins for Sewing, Quilting and Patchwork

Prym steel safety pins hold sewing, quilting and patchwork projects in place, and they are also useful for all kinds of everyday jobs. The pack contains 12 silver-coloured pins, each 50 mm long.

The pins have a rust-protected coating. The slim points go more easily into thick, firm materials and are gentle on the fabric. The steel used has a balanced spring tension, so according to Prym the pins close securely even after frequent opening and closing.

What is the 50 mm length suited to?

At 50 mm, these are among the longer safety pins. They take several layers of fabric, for example when pinning together a quilt top, wadding and backing. For fine fabrics and small projects, shorter lengths are more practical. Prym offers safety pins in sizes from 19 to 57 mm.

Using the pins for quilting

Place the pins at even intervals across the quilt and close each one. As you quilt, remove them ahead of the needle so that you do not sew into them.
