With the Hardicraft Polly the Cat crochet kit, you crochet a cat approx. 21 cm tall. The kit contains instructions in English, German and Dutch, cotton yarn in grey, yellow and light grey, safety eyes and polyester fibrefill. There is no need to hunt down materials one by one. Only the 2.5 mm crochet hook is missing.

The yarn is 100% cotton. It is worked with a 2.5 mm hook. This is a fairly fine hook size, which gives nice dense stitches.

What's in the kit

You get three colours of yarn in different quantities, so that the cat ends up multicoloured. The safety eyes are 6 mm. The stuffing is included. The instructions show which colour is used for which part.

Making Polly

Crocheted figures are usually worked in rounds. A stitch marker helps you find the start of the round. Crochet firmly, so that the stuffing does not show through the stitches later. Insert the safety eyes before you stuff the figure, as they are hard to secure from the inside afterwards. Stuff in small amounts so that the cat is evenly firm.
