Rayher Mega-Filzer – concentrate for faster wet felting

Rayher's Mega-Filzer is a felting concentrate for wet felting wool. According to Rayher, you can felt up to 10 times faster with it. The concentrate is plant-based, with no dyes and no soap, so the colours of your wool are kept. The bottle contains 50 ml. Mixed with water at a ratio of 1:100, it makes approx. 5 l of felting liquid. That is enough for several projects.

Rayher describes the Mega-Filzer as a 100 % natural product with a plant complex. According to Rayher, it is dermatologically tested. That is useful if you work with your hands in the felting solution for a long time. You do not need to rinse out the finished piece.

Preparing the felting liquid

Add the Mega-Filzer to water at a ratio of 1:100, which is 10 ml of concentrate to 1 l of water. Cold or warm water can be used. The whole bottle makes 5 l. Mix only as much as you need, and stir briefly before felting.

Felting with it

Lay out the wool in thin layers, soak it with the felting liquid and press it down gently. Then rub lightly over the surface until the fibres bond. Start gently: once the layers hold together, you can rub harder and refine the shape. This gives you flat pieces, figures or balls without any additional rinsing.
