Clover 494/T patchwork templates – triangles, diamonds and hexagons with sewing and cutting lines

The Clover 494/T template set (Templates) consists of 7 polypropylene window templates that you use to transfer patchwork shapes onto fabric, paper or felt and cut them out. The set contains triangles, diamonds and hexagons. The openings show both the sewing line and the cutting edge, so you do not need to work out the seam allowance separately.

This is a basic set for classic patterns made from triangles, diamonds and hexagons, for example stars or hexagon flowers. You will find squares and octagons in the companion set 494/S.

Transferring the shapes

Place the template on the fabric and mark the sewing line and the cutting edge through the opening. Cut the shape out along the cutting edge; the sewing line later guides you when joining the pieces. On patterned fabrics, you can position the template so that a particular motif sits in the centre of the window. Hold the template flat while marking and keep it steady with your free hand so that it does not slip and the lines stay clean.

Which set to choose

The 494/T set covers triangles, diamonds and hexagons. If you need squares or octagons, the Clover 494/S set is the better choice.
