Prym Multi ergonomic Parallel Tracing Wheel – Marking Seam Allowances in Parallel
With the Prym Multi ergonomic parallel tracing wheel (art. no. 610943), you mark seam allowances of 15, 25 or 40 mm on fabric. It consists of the "Mouse" chalk wheel from the prym.ergonomics series and a side guide that runs parallel to the chalk wheel. You set the distance with the spacer, which clicks into place at the seam allowance you want. This lets you mark the usual seam allowances in a single pass.
The chalk wheel has all the features of the Mouse: an ergonomic shape, a finely dosed chalk line and a viewing window that shows you how much chalk is left. The chalk is washable. The wheel won the Red Dot Design Award in 2010.
Marking the seam allowance
Attach the side guide to the chalk wheel and click the spacer into place at 15, 25 or 40 mm. Run the small wheel on the side guide along the cutting line, and the chalk wheel marks the seam allowance in parallel at the set distance. This saves you marking each line separately with a ruler and is particularly useful on long, straight edges. Without the side guide, you use the wheel like the chalk mouse for single lines.
Chalk colours and how to choose
The chalk cartridges come in white and yellow. White stands out on dark fabrics, yellow on light ones. The viewing window shows you in good time when you need to change the cartridge. Test the chalk on a fabric offcut first so that you can see how well it washes out of your fabric.
