addi Express Kingsize – knitting machine for circular and flat knitting
The addi Express Kingsize (art. no. 890-2) is a knitting machine with 46 needles that you can use to knit tubes in the round and flat panels. It has a larger diameter than the smaller machines, so more stitches fit on the needles and you can knit hats, scarves, runners or blankets in larger sizes.
You can clamp the machine to a table in a few simple steps so that it does not slip while you work. Wrap the yarn once around the machine and you are ready to start. It is suitable for yarn of needle size 4–8 mm. A mechanical row counter is included so that you keep track of longer pieces.
Circular or flat – what you can knit
Circular knitting produces tubes approx. 35 cm in diameter, for example for hats, snoods or infinity scarves. Flat knitting gives you pieces approx. 45 cm wide, such as scarves, runners or blanket strips that you then sew together. For narrower pieces, you limit the working width with the stoppers supplied.
Getting started
The machine weighs approx. 4.9 kg. Place it on a stable table and fix it in place with the two screw clamps. Use the four adjustable feet to level the height. Then wrap the yarn around the machine and start on the first rows.
- Choose a yarn that suits needle size 4–8 mm.
- Set the row counter to zero at the start so that you can count the rows as you go.
- Use the spare needles to replace a damaged needle.
