Prym White Tailor's Chalk Squares – 25 Pieces for Marking Fabric

Prym white tailor's chalk squares (art. no. 611825) are used to mark cutting lines, seam allowances and alterations directly on the fabric. The value pack contains 25 white squares, each 50 × 50 mm. According to Prym, the chalk can be used on almost all fabrics, and the lines can be removed again.

White chalk shows up particularly clearly on dark and deeply coloured fabrics. With the square shape, you can draw fine lines with the edge or broader marks with the flat side, depending on the pressure. With 25 pieces, the pack lasts for many projects, and you always have a spare to hand when a square breaks or is used up.

Marking neatly

Lay the fabric flat on a firm surface and draw with the edge of the square when you need fine lines. To transfer sewing pattern outlines, hold the template in place with one hand and run the edge along it with light pressure. Too much pressure makes the square break and smudges the line. On delicate or tightly woven fabrics, test the chalk first on an offcut before marking the actual piece and removing the lines again.

White or mixed colours?

White is clearly visible on dark and medium fabrics, but on very pale fabrics the line hardly stands out. For pale fabrics, Prym also offers the value pack with white, yellow and blue squares.
