Pebaro School Weaving Loom 40 cm – Beech Wood Loom to Assemble Yourself

The Pebaro school weaving loom with a 40 cm weaving width is a loom made of solid beech wood for classic weaving, school projects and hobby crafts. It comes unassembled, and you put it together yourself following the enclosed instructions for use. A comb and two shuttles are included, so once it is assembled all you need is yarn.

At 40 cm, this is the widest weaving width in the Pebaro range of school weaving looms. It is intended for wider pieces such as seat cushions, place mats or wall hangings. For smaller projects such as bookmarks, coasters or first practice pieces, the narrower looms with a weaving width of 17 to 30 cm are enough, and they are also easier to warp.

Weaving on the loom

First assemble the loom following the instructions for use, then stretch the warp threads evenly across the weaving width. Use the shuttle to pass the weft yarn alternately over and under the warp threads, and use the comb to push each row up against the previous one. A typical mistake is pulling the weft yarn too tight: the fabric then draws in towards the middle and the edges become wavy. So let the yarn lie in a gentle arc and only beat it down with the comb.

Which weaving width?

The weaving width determines how wide your fabric will be. The 40 cm loom offers plenty of room for larger pieces, but it needs more yarn and more time per row. For a first lesson in class or if you have little experience, projects on the smaller looms in the series are finished more quickly.
