Rayher elastic cord Ø 0.6 mm – thin stretch cord for beaded bracelets

The Rayher elastic cord, 0.6 mm in diameter, is a thin, stretchy cord for threading small beads and making your own bracelets. Thanks to its fine thickness, it can be pulled through almost any bead hole, even very fine ones. The card holds 5 m, enough for several bracelets. Choose your colour from the options.

Because the cord is round and elastic, you can make bracelets without a clasp: you simply slip them over your hand. This works well for children's, friendship and stacking bracelets.

Threading a bracelet

Measure your wrist, cut the cord with a little extra for the knot and thread the beads in the order you like. A piece of tape or a knot at the end stops the beads from sliding off again. Then join both ends with a double knot. Pull it tight without overstretching the cord, and trim the ends short. If a bead has a larger hole, you can hide the knot inside it.

Choosing the right cord

At 0.6 mm, the cord is intended for small beads and fine holes. If your bead has a larger hole, a thicker elastic cord often holds the knot better. Before buying a larger quantity of beads, check whether the cord passes through once or, for more hold, twice.
