Prym Pyjama-Elastic black – soft elastic for threading through a casing or sewing on

Prym Pyjama-Elastic in black is a very soft elastic band, 20 mm wide, for pyjama, trouser and skirt waistbands. You can thread it through a casing or sew it on directly. According to Prym, it is highly elastic and supple. It is made of 93 % polyamide and 7 % elastane, feels comfortable against the skin and does not dig in. The card contains 2 m.

The elastic is certified to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100. You can wash it at up to 40 °C and tumble dry it. This is handy for nightwear and everyday clothing that goes into the wash often.

How to use the elastic

To thread it through, sew a casing at the waistband that is slightly wider than the 20 mm of the elastic, leaving an opening. Thread the elastic through with a safety pin. Measure the length on your body at a comfortable tension, add an allowance for the overlap and sew the ends firmly together before closing the casing. When sewing it on, stretch the elastic slightly as you stitch. Use a stretch stitch, for example zigzag, so that the seam does not break when stretched.

Black or white?

Pyjama-Elastic is also available in white. Black suits dark fabrics in particular, where a light band would show through or stand out. Light and dark make no difference in use: the width and the length of the card are the same.
