The Prym Reflective Carry-Along Tape (art. no. 977501) is a silver reflective effect tape that you work together with your normal yarn when knitting or crocheting. Hats, leg warmers or wrist warmers gain the effect of a reflector and are easier to see in traffic or during outdoor sport in the darker months. The reel holds 25 m at a thickness of 1 mm.

The tape has a reflective coating and, according to Prym, is washable up to 30 °C.

Working with the carry-along tape

Hold the tape alongside your normal yarn when knitting or crocheting and work both as a double strand. The tape changes the stitch pattern slightly, so first work a small tension swatch with your yarn and the needle size given in your pattern. If you want an even reflective effect, carry the tape along throughout the whole piece.

1 mm or 0.5 mm?

This tape is 1 mm thick and 25 m long. The range is also available in 0.5 mm thickness and 50 m. The thinner tape adds less bulk, while the 1 mm tape is stronger but gives less length per reel.
