PRYM trouser hem protection tape in navy – protects the hem edge of your trousers

You sew the PRYM trouser hem protection tape (art. no. 900357) in navy to the trouser hem so that the inner hem edge wears through less quickly. It is 17 mm wide and 1.25 m long. You can use it when shortening or repairing trousers, or include it right from the start in a new sewing project.

The tape is made of 100 % polyester and is washable at 40 °C, so it stands up to being washed with the trousers. Choose navy to match dark blue trouser fabrics. The tape also covers untidy seams.

Attaching the tape

First measure the circumference of the trouser leg at the hem and add allowances for the seam and overlap before you cut. The tape is meant to be sewn on, not ironed on. Sew it by hand or by machine to the wrong side of the hem edge so that it protects the edge. Sew it on evenly, without pulling it or leaving it lying loose, so that the hem does not ripple.
